About

Oliver Shuttleworth is a fine art consultant and broker in the field of Impressionist, Modern & Post-War art. He has worked in the art world for over two decades, with experience of both auction house and gallery business practices. After eight years at Sotheby’s London followed by four years at a leading Mayfair gallery and art broker, Oliver Shuttleworth Fine Art was founded.

Oliver joined Sotheby’s auction house as a graduate trainee in 2002. Initially in the Contemporary Art Department, he was taken on by the Impressionist & Modern Art Department in 2003. By 2010 he was a department Director and Co-Head of the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sales. Oliver provided expertise within the department at all levels, particularly in business-getting and client development.

In 2010 Oliver worked at a leading Mayfair gallery making a number of high-profile placements including the acquisition of paintings by artists as diverse as Claude Monet and Pierre Soulages.

Oliver has given lectures to companies including the private bank C. Hoare & Co., Blackrock Investment UK, the Sotheby’s Institute and Art Unwrapped about collecting high value works of art. He has also auctioned for high-profile fund-raising events, raising money for the Lyric Theatre and the National Youth Theatre.
